My favorite memories of my Uncle Joe will always be those that involved rock and roll music - specifically the "oldies" from the 50s and 60s. Uncle Joe loved the music of the 50s. Everytime the family would gather at his house, the men (uncle joe, uncle john and my dad ray) would always sit around the basement bar drinking beer, telling jokes and listening to the oldies. Even though I was only a kid at the time and had plenty of cousins to play with my age, you could find me at that bar learning all about the music from uncle Joe and listening to all his really bad polish jokes. while his family is German Aunt jeanne's side is polish/irish. He just loved telling his polish jokes. You could try to turn them around on him and make them german jokes but it never went over all well as him telling them a polish ones. My family moved to Florida when I was 17 so I didn't see as much of him after that as I would have liked. But whenever he came to Florida on vacation with the family, it felt like old times again. There would be music, beer and bad jokes to share. I really miss those days. I love you Uncle Joe may you rest in peace and join with your beloved daughter Jill in looking out for Aunt Jeanne, Linda and Jake from above.
Your loving niece, Kathy Kroegel
