Obituary for Mary R. (McLernon) McCafferty
Mrs. Mary R. (McLernon) McCafferty, 100, of Acton, MA and a longtime former Long Island, NY resident, died peacefully Saturday April 15, 2017 at the Rivercrest Long Term Care Facility in Concord, MA. She was the widow of Frank J. McCafferty, who died in 1981. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Dennison, son-in-law Allan and their family; as well as extended family in the greater New York City area.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (O'Connell) McLernon, and was the sister of the late John, Frank and Anna. Mrs. McCafferty was a homemaker for many years, centering her life around her husband and her daughter, Mary Ann. After Mary Ann's marriage to Allan Dennison, she became a claims representative for Aetna Insurance where she worked for 20 years. Proud of her Irish heritage, Mrs. McCafferty lived independently at her Long Island home until two years ago when she moved to Acton, MA to live with Mary Ann and her family.
